If you are familiar
with our pedestals you will recognize the value you get from
each of our designs. If you are considering another supplier,
this information will safeguard you from spending your good
money on an inferior product. Let’s take one feature
at a time:
Steel
All our pedestals are made using 11 gauge (.120”) steel unless
otherwise noted. Many other suppliers make theirs using 14 gauge (.083”)
material increasing the chance of damage during shipping or wobbling
after installation.
Faceplates
Our faceplate designs use a universal hole pattern that fit hundreds
(if not thousands) of electronics on the market. Faceplate hole patterns
on competing pedestals may be limited or totally proprietary to certain
lines of electronics.
Base Plates
All our base plates are heavy gauge. Other suppliers will often use smaller
or lighter gauge base plates to cut costs. If a base plate is too light,
it can affect your quality installation.
Cover Plates
All
of our pad mount pedestals come with cover plates. This is
unique. Other manufactures have some with and some without.
Those without will cost you extra.
Neck Throw
Each PedestalCEO neck is bent with a 6.0” center radius giving
it a tight, professional look. This requires a substantial tooling investment.
Compare this to other suppliers that cut these cost corners by varying
their necks from 7” to 9” centers. These “looser” neck
don’t look as tight
and don’t provide the quality appearance you are probably looking
for. Beware of some vendors that weld their necks and don’t bend
at all. These have been some of the most poorly made pedestals we have
seen.
Washing & Powdercoating
Many don’t clean their steel well (or at all) which lessens the
bonding between the baked-on powder and steel. In this case, paint chipping
can occur easily. Also, many use an epoxy powdercoat that is meant for
indoor applications allowing the finish color to fade easily in the sun.
Our finish work is thorough. Our powdercoating
process includes a 3-stage wash cycle, drying, a thorough covering
of an outdoor-use polyester powdercoat, baking to powder’s
manufacturing specifications, and rapid cool down. Our pedestals
are built to last in the outdoor weather. We put more work
into our powdercoating but it provides longer life and greater
satisfaction for your customers.
Boxing & Hardware
All pedestals are boxed individually with the necessary carriage bolt
hardware. Our competitors don’t include hardware which can cost
an installer valuable time in the field.
